Photocean is a film and tv-production company established by me, Kim Silfving, in 2008. After working as a photographer and editor for the Swedish television (SVT) and DiTV since 2000, I set up a production company of my own in 2008. My experience include filming and editing of short feature films for news, documentaries and promotional films and later on also short feature films.

Most recently, in Sweden, I was filming for a documentary produced by SVT. The documentary was produced by Gellert Tamas and Maria Magnusson and is called "Fången - Dawit Isaak och tystnaden". It is about the Swedish-Eritrean journalist Dawit Isaak that has been imprisoned in Eritrea since 2001 without a trial and is considered a traitor by the Eritrean government. During the fall of 2011 I have spent most of my time in Prague, Czech Republic. There I have been working on several short film productions in corporation with a Bulgarian director. The following months of 2012 I will also spend in Prague, working with other short films. These projects will be finished by the end of May 2012.

My goal as a cinematographer is to be able to cross the borders between TV and Film, and to work within both fields. During the years as a freelancer I have been filming promotional videos and corporate films for companies as VINGE, EON, SPP Liv och Pension, LG, HSB and Bravida, Dagens Industri and Friends among others. I have also been working with longer projects such as filming a series of three documentaries, covering the industrial history of Sweden, These were broadcasted on TV4 Fakta, during April 2010. During the autumn of 2010 I also spent time in Kurdistan filming for a planned documentary project for SVT. Between longer projects I get different assignments for Aktuellt (SVT), Rapport, ABC (SVT) and Kulturnyheterna (SVT). These jobs include filming and editing news coverage.

I always do my utmost to ensure that you as a customer will be satisfied. Through hard work and personal commitment I give a good and satisfying result for you and your intended production. I work on all kinds of format, depending on project. Everything from Canon 5D to RED or other digital formats. When it comes to editing, my experience of working with Avid Mediacomposer is comprehensive, and the last years I have developed my skills working with the Final Cut studio as well.
